Required Artwork Specifications
Our talented artists can take your simplest hand-drawn sketch or concept and create a beautiful, professionally executed custom design. Or, if you wish to supply finished artwork to be used in production, it must meet the following specifications.
Custom Flag Artwork
The preferred method for supplying art to scale is in a vectored electronic file. Vectored art is created from instructions showing lines and points on an X and Y axis, resulting in art that can be scaled without distortion for the large output sizes needed for flags and banners. Typical vector art files are generated in graphics programs such as Adobe Illustrator (version 10 or earlier), Macromedia Freehand (version 9 or earlier), and Corel Draw (version 8 or earlier), to name a few. Other programs that can create editable EPS files are also acceptable. In any instance with any of these files, convert all text to outlines (curves). A printout of the exact file sent must be included with the order or faxed. No Exceptions.
Common un-useable artwork
Files that cannot be used to produce custom flags and banners include those typically generated in Paint Brush, Photo Shop, Power Point, Print Shop, Publisher, Quark Express, Word, or any other type of un-editable file format. Typical un-useable file formats are attached or unattached bitmap, tiff, jpeg, giff, or other such file types.
Halftones can be reproduced on most screen printed products, with limitations. We can not accept halftone color blends. Percentage of tone must be limited to the range of 15% to 85%, in order to avoid disappointing results (graduated halftones must be supplied to us already in this range). All screen printed products will have halftones reproduced at 18 LPI or coarser in full size.
Full Color Artwork
All full color artwork must be converted to CMYK. Convert all text to outline(curves). A printout of the exact file sent must be included with the order or faxed. No Exceptions.
In silk screening, we use Pantone Color Matching System as a guide to imprint your colors, using the uncoated version of any color to attempt the closest optical match we can. We cannot guarantee an exact color match, but we will always come as close as possible.
For appliqué, colors rely on the standard color range in which that fabric is produced. Fabrics do not generally have the same color values as the color matching systems used for ink, but we can usually advise the best choice.
Full color flags and banners are based on the Pantone CMYK Color Matching System. We cannot guarantee an exact color match, but we will always come as close as possible. Variables relating to individual substrates, heat, and dyes, might have an affect on final flag and/or banner appearance.
